Who We Are

We are Julian Wild and Alison Hand, established artists and educators, with over 30 years art tutoring experience between us.

Julian is a highly established sculptor and educator, who exhibits internationally and has completed numerous public and private art commissions. Working from his rural Sussex studio, he is an expert with sculptural materials, processes and equipment. Alongside this Julian has a deep understanding of formal and conceptual sculptural concerns. Previously Vice President of the Royal Society of Sculptors, he is now a trustee for the Chelsea Arts Club Trust, a judge for this years’ Discerning Eye and The Marsh Award for excellence in public sculpture. Julian is a senior lecturer and Sculpture Leader at Art Academy London and has over 20 years teaching experience in further and higher education.

Alison is a passionate educator and is BA Fine Art Programme Leader at Art Academy London. She has a painting and drawing practice and exhibits internationally, along with devising and curating exhibitions bringing artists together thematically. Her work has used probably every type of paint and surface under the sun, from oil paint to spray paint to encaustic wax, on canvas, metal, polystyrene, wood. She is an established art writer and has written books for DK publishers on fundamental artistic concepts, materials and techniques. She is currently writing about contemporary drawing and how it is taught in art schools for a new Encylopedia of Visual Culture.
